“Share Jesus with the world”

In his article, “Let ‘The Chosen’ Unite Us, Rather Than Further Divide”, Andrew Rice shares some details of a conversation he had with Dallas Jenkins, creator of “The Chosen”. He recounts that when Jenkins met with Elders Jeffrey R. Holland and David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he told them he just wanted to “share Jesus with the world.”

I love how he is doing that.

Three and a half of the best hours and eighty of the best dollars I’ve spent lately were watching Episodes 1-3 of “The Chosen” in the theatre.

Beyond some great story-telling and solid acting, here is why I support this show…

“If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things” (Articles of Faith 1:13).

“And whatsoever thing is good is just and true; wherefore, nothing that is good denieth the Christ, but acknowledgeth that he is” (Moroni 10:6).

“Every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God” (Moroni 7:16).

“And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins” (2 Nephi 25:26).

Dallas Jenkins has brought me closer to Christ by how he is sharing Jesus. I am grateful for that.

Update 8/22/2025: This video provides some great insight into the meeting with Elder Holland and Elder Bednar mentioned above:
